Anyone interested in Winn Parish, Louisiana, is welcome to post comments on this blog.
I don't intend to exercise any editorial control over this blog, other than the most basic site-maintenance required for the provision of a generally organized forum in which others can discuss local issues. Each commentator is solely responsible for his or her comments.
To see the comments associated with a particular post, click on that post's title. From there, you can easily add your own commentary.
If you have any problems using the site or if you notice something that isn't working like it should (e.g., broken links), please post a comment about that in the comments section of this post and I'll try to fix it.
Thank you.

Winn Parish Bloggers
I started the WPP in large part because of the absence of Winn Parish commentators on the Internet. I hope that this forum will eventually serve as simply a way station through which Web-wanderers seeking perspectives from Winn residents can find what they're looking for.
If you have a blog or any sort of website that has significant Winn-related content, please feel free to post the url in the comments section here. If your blog deals with a specific aspect of Winn Parish life (e.g. Winn history, the School Board, hunting), please post your url in the post for that subject, too.
If you're thinking of starting a blog, please do. It's very easy and doesn't require much more computer skill than you've already displayed in getting to this post. This blog uses Blogger, but there are other good, free blogging sites available. You could even use the blog feature on your MySpace account, if you have one.
Here's a list of a few types of people whose blogs might be especially valuable for the community:
Local government officials
Local political candidates
People who regularly attend and closely follow the meetings of local governmental bodies
Students and faculty at local schools
Former Winn residents
Residents of each of the smaller communities in the parish
Local gardeners
Local artists
Local clergy
Anyone in the community, however, can provide insights which would be interesting or useful to someone.
